Anti Wrinkle Injections

Colloquially known as 'Botox' short for 'Botulinum Toxin', Botox is a popular cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. It is a type of neurotoxin that is derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. While the bacteria itself is toxic, small amounts of the purified toxin can be used safely for therapeutic purposes.

Botox works by blocking nerve signals that cause muscle contractions. When injected into the muscles of the face, it temporarily paralyzes them, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The most common areas for treatment are the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes (crow’s feet).

Botox treatments are quick, usually taking less than 30 minutes, and involve a series of small injections into the targeted areas. The effects of the treatment can last up to 3-6 months, after which time the treatment can be repeated if desired.
