What is lip filler?

Lip filler is a treatment that enables you to enhance your lips by creating volume and definition. This can be achieved by using a variety of techniques depending upon your desired results. Emily is trained in all techniques and will advise you based on the look you want to achieve.

We favour natural enhancements, however we can build more dramatic results if desired, usually over a period of a few sessions to allow for the lip tissue to stretch safely without risk of migration. At your consultation we will agree on a treatment plan to achieve beautiful results in line with your desired look, taking natural anatomy into account.

We use a range of dermal filler: Revolax, Juvederm, Saphya, Restylane and Teosyal. Revolax is used as standard but the choice is yours. Prices vary depending on the choice and this can be discussed at your consultation.

Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is naturally found in the body. Large amounts are found in our skin and connective tissues. HA keeps skin hydrated and plump and can be injected to restore loss to due aging or add more volume and hydration.

What are the side effects?

Minimal bruising and swelling are a completely normal part of a lip enhancement although for some people might not experience any bruising at all. You can minimise these side effects by following my pre-appointment and aftercare advice. These side effects can last from 3 days to 2 weeks. However, if you become concerned about any of your side effects Emily is always contactable 24/7.

If you suffer from cold sores, a lip enhancement may bring on an outbreak. If this happens please just treat as you normally would.

Complications are very rare, Emily uses safe techniques to minimise risk, and is fully trained in complication management. The risks involved are explained in great length in your pre-appointment consent form, and are discussed in your consultation.

How long do fillers last?

Your new lips can last anywhere between 6-12 months although this is different for each person. There are multiple factors that can affect this such as UV exposure, metabolism, smoking and exercise.
